The Indiana County PC Users Group (ICPUG) is a public educational organization open to all persons interested in pc compatible computers. The ICPCUG was founded in September 1996.
The next Indiana County PC Users Group meetings are scheduled Tuesday, October 20th at Room 111 in Eberly College of Business (right between the two major construction projects) on the IUP campus.
We're look for the program topics that you think the group should explore. Are you curious about a software program you've heard about but never seen in use? Do you need help or advice for a program or peripheral that has you puzzled?
Better yet, are you a whiz at a program or technology feature that make your life easier -- and feel like sharing the wealth (of knowledge)!
Please drop a line in reply on Facebook or email icpcug@verizon.net. See you at the next meetings!
The meetings, as always, include open discussion of all technology issues including hardware, software, peripheral products and legal issues. The members' forum includes opportunities for trouble-shooting and learning how to make the most efficient use of computers, networks and the Internet.
ICPCUG is open to the public and to people of all experience levels -- casual home users, workplace users, professionals and developers.
As a reminder, the group now meets at Room 111 of the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology (ECOBIT) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Eberly building is behind the "Governors' Quad" dormitories (take South 11th Street from the Maple Street intersection). It shares a SPACIOUS parking lot with the IUP football stadium and basketball field house.
We just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.
Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.
Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.
