Tuesday, May 18, 2004:
The Indiana PC Users Group held its monthly meeting at the Indiana County Technology Center, Hamill Road, Indiana, Pa. President Larry Rodack welcomed those in attendance and opened the meeting at 7:05 p.m.

Minutes:
The minutes of the April 20 meeting will be presented during the June 15 meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer Larry Stadtmiller report was approved as presented.

 Program:
Secretary, Bob Dalecki gave a presentation on how to use Microsoft Access.  He used a handout to help in discussing the definition of a database, tables, queries, forms and reports.  He demonstrated the process of opening an Excel spreadsheet with Access and explained the step by step process.  He also demonstrated how to open a DBF file and convert a field from a text format into a number format.  He built a query using two tables and showed how the relationship between the tables can be changed from a one to one relationship or a one to many relationship.  An expression was built demonstrating how to determine if an expression is true or false by using the “IF ELSE” function.  This is a powerful expression that can also be used in spreadsheets.

Old Business:
No matters of old business were discussed.

New Business:
No matters of new business were discussed.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2004.  There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.

  Respectfully submitted,

Robert Dalecki,
Secretary
